Yes, meditation which can be reading and reflecting for me, or stretching prior to a workout. I re-arranged my home office so I am looking right out the window to the front yard. I quit a high stress job and took the summer off but I took on too many home construction projects in the heat so I hired terrific flagstone professionals for a large area out back that was done horribly and painters for the inside of the home. I took a work from home job, I can checkup on the workers easily, I have a flexible schedule with only one emergency pulling me off the lawn mower today. I like to have Groove Salad ( somaFM ) playing in the background in my newly cleaned up office, all the clutter was a bother. Yet still with all the racing around to the new job in Garden of the Gods and finding the office, then eat EVERYTHING at the dinner and breakfast buffet at the resort I flared. I ate a ton of fruit and treats after the meat and potatoes. I really was not taking care of myself, I was not even taking probiotics. That was a fast drop but it was all the stress involved with transition back to corp life and some personal issues I mismanaged. Stone work looks great and I have a new table area in the sun looking at the mountains and
open space that is not under the shade of the deck. This will be one of my primary relaxation spots but the office is pretty relaxing now that the clutter is gone and I am looking out the window all day. Normally some form of cardio would be a HUGE stress reducer if you can pull off at least 20 mins and push it to the limit 5 mins before you begin to cool down. I am taking it easy but soon I will be back to my recumbant with computer mounted on it or bicycle, running, rollerblading. I am fairly certain the bruised/cracked ribs I got from a flip on my mountain bike started this recent bout, a friend who raced cars recommended a giant velcro wrap for you middle from walgreens. Allowed me to move around and get in and out of bed but wearing it tightly 24x7 for 4 days before the work trip probably irritated the daylights out of my guts.
