Severe proctitis up to about 18 cm , 3 yrs ago it was 15 cm ,so it has gotten a bit worse. Starting rowasa enemas tonight.

Will continue flax, Vsl, acupuncture....any thoughts, suggestions? Any good stories about rowasa? Anyone know about how long until I see some relief? I'm hoping at least 2-3 weeks until I see some relief....


Thoughts? Comments??? Help???

I use Rowasa and it seems to help...not perfect but has made the biggest difference in my treatment. Alot of people have success with it. It takes a little getting used to but after you do it a few times, no problem. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

I used it for flares, it definitely helped a lot.
Hopefully you will see some relief in the first week, especially if you are able to hold it all night.
There are generics that are lots cheaper, if you are concerned about cost.

Accupuncture didn't help me one bit. The flax would be too harsh for my flaring gut.

I thought the flax was supposed to help " bulk" me up?? So should I wait until the Rowasa takes effect before I continue with the fiber?

I am on Rowasa and in the beginning it did help but i guess my body gets used to of every medicine pretty quick but that's a different story! When flaring it tries to come out but i make it a point not to get up after using it and i get up only next morning or a quick tour to restroom at night. Try to hold it in whole night. I dnt think flax shud be a concern as i eat tonns of fiber and it makes no difference....i had Psyllium husk day before at night and i was fine.
