Thanks for the tips! I am flaring now. It's my first real flare since I was diagnosed. I definitely am getting that balloon feeling. I've added morning Canasa to my nightly Rowasa for the past two weeks. I've seen a bit of improvement -- the bleeding has mostly stopped -- but I still have all the other symptoms.
I have tried peppermint capsules in the past, but it never seemed conclusive that it helped. I also have acid reflux, and peppermint is supposed to be bad for that. But maybe if I got the enteric coated ones, they wouldn't affect my reflux. Or maybe I'd rather deal with reflux than gas!
I've kind of noticed that eating more sugary things seems to exacerbate the problem, too. Especially with fruits, so I've wondered if I'm intolerant to fructose. I've been avoiding that during the flare.
