traveling -- getting remicade infusions in europe

hi! i posted earlier but I didn't get any responses so just wanted to try again. I'm wondering if any of you have ever gotten a remicade infusion in europe? and if so, how much it cost? -- and if it was a gigantic hassle to set up? my insurance company will pay 80% of the "allowed amount" but they don't know what the allowed amount is. remicade has to be much cheaper in europe than the US, right? i'd try to get the infusion in berlin if possible, but would consider london if that's much easier.
are most people on remicade truly unable to live abroad? that just seems so very sad to me.

I've never been to Germany so can't comment on Berlin but in London you'll have to go private (paying through the NHS might be possible but I don't know how the logistics would work of arranging that. Also Remicade is not available for UC on the NHS though I don't think this would make a difference if you were paying out of pocket. I'd do a google search for a GI on harley street in London and contact them. Go from there.

I just did a quick search and this came up but there seemed to be quite a few GIs on Harley Street. They'd likely be able to arrange it or give you some info on how to go about this.

I am planning on studying abroad second semester this year at Kings college in London, and I do know that there is a Kings college hospital that my USA doctor suggested I look at to get in touch with a IBD doctor. I believe that there are three very well known IBD doctors at Kings College Hospital. So they may be able to do remicade treatments, not a 100 percent sure though. Hope this helps
