Looking for some help I was diagnosed with moderate uc 2 years ago passed lots of blood and mucus very loose stools on toilet all the time and lots of cramping lasted 6 to 7 months took 6 asacol a day DR has cut me down to 3 a day..Now my problem is eversince I have had constupation for 3 or 4 days then I take a herbal tea (smooth move) and the next day I have bad cramping with all day toilet visits can't get regular at all also have constant pain in lower right abdoman DR just kind of slulf it off when I tell him Is this part of colitic??????????????????

Hi..welcome to the forum.

You should do some research on UC medications and ask the doctor for some rectal medications at the very least. You "might" be sensitive to the Asacol, but it could be that not having enough medications is giving you the symptoms.

Are you seeing a gastro doctor or a GP?

Where in the colon is your UC located...throughout or limited?

Hi Quincy, My Gastro dr. says it is in the area of my Ileum and lower intestine to complicate matters I have diverticulitis. I have constant pain in lower right side of gut, this also in the area were I had a hernia repair several years ago when I tell my gp or my gastro dr about it they don't seem to concerned about it but, I am getting real tired of no answer! so pain+runs+constipation+no answers =what do I do

I'd ask about upping Asacol and getting on rectal meds (Rowasa). Constipation means the inflammation is low. Diarrhea is higher up. So both I guess means it's kind of all over. Being on both oral and rectal should help.
