OT - time for a fun thread!

Ok, here is an oldy but a goody. We've had this in the past but since we have so many new members I thought it would be nice to bring it back.

For our newbies - OT means off topic in case you didn't know. And the fun threads are a way to connect even more with each other and to just have fun.

So here it goes (again) - What is your profession?

I don't work right now because I just have too many health issues but I just recently discovered the joy of Ebay. I have been selling things on there to make a few dollars. But before I had to quit, I used to be a payroll accountant. I absolutely loved it! At one time I was working at an Engineer contracting company with over 700 employees. It was crazy busy but fun.

Ok, now it's your turn to share!

I managed a shoe store but went to part-time in September. Gonna take some getting used to taking orders instead of giving them:)

RETIRED!  BUt, my real profession (job) right now is caregiver to my husband who has lung cancer, heart problems and we spend a lot of time at doctors.  He is doing well right now!

Currently un-employed due to a car accident. Although I was working at the mall at GUESS Co. part time. And I worked for my dads construction company :)

Nothing right now. Im finishing my Masters in Social Work this semester and I have a JD, so I'm trying to decide whether to try to find work in the social work field or work as an attorney

I've been a stay at home mom for 5 years now and LOVE it. I love cooking, reading to the kids, walking around the neighborhood with them and taking them to the beach. We are homeschoolers so I'll be hanging out with these kids of mine for quite some time.
I am also a volunteer La Leche League leader. That means I do a breastfeeding support group 3 times each month and take phone calls whenever they come in.
To make a few bucks here and there (but mostly because I enjoy it) I sew cloth diaper covers and feminine cloth pads which I sell on etsy and in shops locally.

Photographer, that's awesome. I love pictures, but I've never been good at taking them.

Mechanical engineer at the buisness my dad started in 1980. Work here with my father, mother, and brother, Yikes! It can create some interesting arguments with family going at it over business...

pam222: ah! another social worker on the boards! curious why you have your jd but went for your MSW?  sounds interesting. 

agt13girl:  why would you say that your first job may be your last job????  UC CAN and DOES go into remission.  Heck, you can even work during flares! !!!!!

Work occasionally in the conference and accommodation office as general services (setting up rooms,helping conferences, general office ***** basically :( but good fun and money)

I'm currently in my fourth year of college working on my B.S. in medical laboratory science. I'm applying to clinical schools at the moment so I could have another 1-2 years left.

Final year Civil Engineering student, almost graduated!

For the last 4 years I've been working as a supervisor at a Doggy Daycare facility. I took the job after having worked for 11 years as a school crossing guard because one of the benefits, actually the only benefit, of the job is a private bathroom.....woo hoo! Trust me, after working for 11 years standing on a street corner with not a chance in hell of reaching a bathroom when needed, this job was a God send.

I am a full time student, in my last year of undergrad getting a Bachelors in English. I am nowhere near done though, as I will be entering my grad school program in the fall of 2011.
