While I was gone working on the road, I had some new people move in next to me. A mom and her sweet 4yr old little girl. Well, I always welcome new people to my little area, so I went and had a cook out with everyone that lives by me, as that is just my way of entertaining. So, I had to run to Walmart, and she asked if she could come along, so off we went. When I bought the things I needed for our cook out, I went over and bought some adult dipers, as I have run out and I like to keep them in my truck while on the road, just in case. Well she asked if I was buying them for a parent or family member because she knows my kids are 11&6. So, I told her they were for me, and then told her that I suffer from UC. She both smiled and started crying at the same time. I asked what was wrong, she too has UC, and has never told anyone, not even her close friends or family. I told her, everyone around where I live knows about
me and my condition, and that if I ever "need" to go to the bathroom and I'm closer to their place then mine, they know they better get out of my way
Anyways, after letting her have a nice cry, I told her that I personally never thought of being embarresed about
having UC or having to buy what ever I thought I needed to make my life better. We had a nice long talk, and she said she has felt alone for over 5yrs, since she got her DX. Well, we had a blast at the cook out, found out we have a lot in common, other then UC, and plan on talking a lot while I'm home and at work on the road. I also gave her this website info, so she might just pop up here someday
Well, we actully have a date for tonight, so thats good. Well, I just had to share this with people that would get a kick out of a story like this.
