It's kind of creepy that it showed up on Craig's list. But oh well. Thought you, in particular, might be interested.

If it's not taking a pill, i might do it. It's about a 40 minute drive for me, no traffic.

Who knows if they want someone in remission or out? I wrote them an email. Will let you know if I get one back.

 

A while back my doctor suggested a clinical trial.  The problem was that you had to be off all meds for 2 weeks before you started.  That, coupled with the significant chance that I would get a placebo convinced me to pass on it.

 

I got a call today from these folks today. They represent Natura-Alpha, a newly developed cytokine regulator

It said on Craig's List that they were offering $1600 and on the phone they mentioned $350 in travel expenses.

The trials conducted by the pharmaceutical company are in Anaheim, CA

I didn't qualify because I'm responding pretty well to Asacol, enemas and suppositories. They are looking for moderate to severe ulcerative colitis patients who are not responding to conventional treatment.

They said the product is "all natural"

Exclusion Criteria:

•History of colonic or rectal surgery.
•Pregnant or breast-feeding.
•Diagnosis of diabetes, heart failure, unstable angina, hepatic cirrhosis, kidney failure, or any other unstable medical condition.
•Known hypersensitivity to Natura alpha or any of the drug excipients.
•Active and chronic infections.
•Severe ulcerative colitis indicated by Disease Activity Index score > 10.
•Patients with ulcerative proctitis (disease limited to less than 15 cm from the anal verge).
•Use of any vaccine or any other immunostimulator within 4 weeks prior to the screening visit. .
•Use of > 2.4 gm mesalamine or equivalent within 2 weeks prior to the screening visit.
•Use of oral corticosteroids for more than 3 days during the two weeks prior to the screening visit.
•Use of corticosteroid or 5-ASA enemas, foams, or suppositories at any time within two weeks prior to the screening visit. .
•Use of TNF-alpha antibody or any other biologic therapy within 2 months prior to the screening visit. .
•Use of immunosuppressive drugs at any time within four weeks prior to the screening visit. .
•Use of oral or parenteral antibiotics at any time within two weeks prior to the screening visit.

So basically they're looking for people with mild to severe UC that arent on any meds and willing to travel. lol good luck with that.

I qualify, except for the fact that I live in Northern California that is.
