Hi,

I just happen to google this brilliant forum about health problem.

Today I went for piles ligation and the doctor did a sigmoidoscopy.
He notices inflammation on Rectum and Lower Sigmoid Colon, he can't tell me anything and I have to wait for 2 weeks for the result.

I am quite worry and suspect I had UC.

I had bloody stools around 1 month ago and went for check. Doctor verify I had piles so I thought that caused the bloody stools.
I don't have much symptoms except 2 weeks ago I am having bloated stomach which caused discomfort.

Anybody can enlighten me?

Hey Alan, hopefully you don't have UC. I just turned 24 and have had UC since I was 17. It isn't fun but there are plenty of meds out there. I would have to say the hardest thing about UC is actually accepting it in my life. But are you having and pain in the left side of your stomach? Because that was the biggest "hint" that I had UC. And no more bloody stools?? Well honestly I do wish you the best of luck and I too found this website off of google! :)

Is it possible that there is inflammation in Rectum and Sigmoid but it's not UC?

And can i check if UC treatment is expensive?

Hi Alan

what country are you a citizen of, meaning what healthcare?
If it's the US you should have your healthcare hookup BEFORE you get a UC diagnosis, it is harder to get coverage after being diagnosed because it becomes a "pre-existing condition". It's not horrible by any means but it impacts your healthcare cost and eligibility.

Hi Alan.

Hopefully you don't have it.  What you described doesn't match my experience, but everyone is different.  There are many different ways of treating UC, depending on how severe it is.  If it is mild it is very straight forward medication and a little bit of TLC - treating our body better.  If it was more serious - you would know this as you would have given your toilet a name - it can be difficult.  But wait and see and when you know more come back to this site.  There is loads of information in the old postings and you can ask any specific questions.
