Looks like study drug success!

Hello my U/C friends...long time no posts!
After about a year & a half of ups & downs (both w/my u/c & my life!) I am FINALLY in a SOLID remission...can you all hear me
shouting out loud right now! It's been about 9 weeks now & I feel better than I have in 8 years.
The back story short...In September we sold our house, had to pack it up & move my family which includes the 3 little people! Bought
our new house, had to un-pack & try to get settled etc. Needless to say as I am sure most of you know...a very stressful process!
During this time I was also debating having surgery for my u/c because I was really just sick of feeling so awful & bleeding everyday.
Doc & I had run the gamut on meds & remicade infusions were the next step. Enter study drug Natura - Alpha 10mgs. It is a 28 day study
& today I will actually take my last dose. It is a product of Natrogen Theraputics in phase 2 trial period. Originated in China, used to treat cancer
WITHOUT many of the harmful chemicals in most chemo drugs. Kind of like 6mp but natural based. Works the same by targeting the TNF & balancing
the immune system so the good only attack the bad.
Here's the ironic part of my story... my remission started the day after my scope about a week prior to starting the drug! The weirdest thing ever!
Three weeks after moving, day after scope (when most people bleed alot) it were as if someone just flipped a switch, literally! So I am not so sure
I can attribute the induction of remission to the drug but I do believe it has kept me here. Who knows, maybe something in the air at the old house was triggering my flare, I even wonder now if it was the water! My whole body feels fantastic!!! I mean none of the usual u/c aches & pains...nothing...symptom free. I really believe the drug is ensuring my overall feeling of wellness! (hopefully what I just said makes sense!)
Apparently, after a 28 day dosage a person can sustain remission for up to 2 years. FINGERS, TOES, EYES CROSSED! I am just so happy to share this with all of you b/c it sure does give me hope so maybe it can give some of you the same :)
Also, I probably should say that the drug is part of an overall regimen for me. I don't have time to change sig line right now, but I have altered my
diet to exclude any processed or "enriched" foods. Also stopped taking multi-vites. As most of you know, trial & error until you find the combo
that works. It's so nice to have a body working in sync!

I hope you're beginning to feel settled now in regard to the move and unpacking and that the kids are liking the new place.
How interesting that you started to feel better even before the drug! Indeed, were you allergic to something at the old house, or in a way did having your scoping after the move signal your body that the stressful time was over.....?
(I ask that because I'd started to flare before my hip surgery last spring and stopped having symptoms immediately post-surgery, despite antibiotics, etc.)

In any case - we'll be interested to know how you continue to do and more about this drug!

You say this is a randomized, double-blind study? ..but you have been informed before finishing the study that you are in fact taking the drug and not a placebo?

Napacabs- Also, I should add that I had a scope a week before starting the drug, which showed my disease as being moderate in severity
& had a sig. this past Tuesday which showed marked improvement overall disease now rated as mild. I saw the pictures...nice to
see the progress. The ulcerations are still there but seem to be sealing up. It was a beautiful site!

Thanks for clarifying. Most importantly, glad to hear that you're feeling well. It would be wonderful to have another effective oral treatment for UC. Please do keep us updated on which treatment you received.
