Finally got some relief, and have went into remission, (knock on wood).  My doctor put me on Humira, 6 months ago, along with steroids, now being weaned off the steroids, with a probiotic added to the list of meds, I am taking..  the new med is VSL#3DS, I am not sure what is working, but something sure is,,,, turn so far it has been 2 weeks.................. yea

Hi..welcome to the forum.

Where is your UC? limited or throughout? How long ago were you diagnosed?

I don't think VSL is considered a med...hope you continue to feel better.

Have been diagnozed for 4 years, tried lialda, entocort, predinsone, with no reli ef, until I started the humira, the vsl#3ds is a prescription and is used to treat the uc and chrons.  My blood tests for uc and chrons show that i do not have either  one, but the scope shows colitis.  the vsl#3ds is a probiotic and replaces the bacteria in the intestines, like 900,000,000 per packet, i take 2 packets a day.   like i said so far so good, 2 weeks on the vsl and 6 months on the humira, not sure what is working but  going to change anything but getting off the steroids.

what is the blood test for UC?

not sure on the test, what it is called, but have had so many different tests that i am tired of being poked.
