Vomiting while going to the bathroom?

I have been getting very nauseated when I have to run to the bathroom, but now the nausea has turned into vomiting while I am having a bowel movement.

I have an appointment in a couple weeks to ask my doc, but does anyone else have this symptom?

My son did when he was in a major flare three years ago.

Yes I also had vomiting when going to the bathroom in my worst flare.  I am now on Humira and taking fiber.  Much Much better:)

At some point turning my flare I got nauseated like that. The pain would be so bad that I'd want to throw up. I never did though.

Same here. Worst flare I ever had had vomiting while sitting on the toilet. I can still remember it and it was YEARS ago.

I also experienced the nausea and close to vomiting.  This occurred during my worst flare and just prior to being admitted to the hospital.  I was put on remicade and 6MP and have improved a great deal.  I would recommend letting your doctor know where you are in your symptoms and not wait until your appointment.  I was persistent and kept calling my dr as the meds weren't working, I wasn't improving and getting worse by the day.  Once they admitted me - things started turning around.

During my worst flare, the pain during a BM would cause nausea bad enough that I would inevitably throw up. Miserable to have D coming out one end while throwing up out the other.

I have never actually vomited, due to sheer force of will, but get very nauseated and have been on the verge many times while dealing with the diarrhea. I find that Gravol makes me feel loads better (as does deep breathing exercises). I hope you find some relief soon. It is miserable when you feel like you are going to loose it out of both ends.

u r not alone, and apparently neither am i! that happens to me every time i have a bad flare... keep a small trash can or bucket near the toilet. good luck, hope things get better soon

i know you guys posted this a while ago, but could you keep food down? did you have to go on a liquid or soft food diet bc of the vomiting?

I just had a 24 hour stomach bug that made me have D and vomiting at the same time. It was bad but it was not a UC flare. Do you know of anyone else that is sick also? Hopefully it is just this nasty bug that has been going around.

I feel for you. I get the same thing during a bad flare. It is not bad enough with all the D, we get to puke on top of it all. The plastic bucket by the toilet is what I do. The vomiting stops when the cramps aren't so bad.

That never happens to me so when I looked right and projectile vomitted into the tub without having time to even feel nauseated I knew I had a neurological problem and was in the hospital for stroke 24 hours later.

August flare was the most nauseating ever but not the kind that would make me vomit I would just lay on the floor for 2 hours to start each day.

aguywithuc, why did you automatically assume neurological problem? do you have issues with that?

Hi Santu,

You don't say what your UC symptoms are at the moment or what medication you are on - but I assume you are flaring?

Contrary to everyone else on this thread - I acutally only vomited when I had started healing, I am not sure what was causing it but everyday for a week or so I passed a lot of stool in the morning, then I would suddently taste sour in my mouth and have to vomit too. I didn't get a chance to ask my doc, because it stopped - and hasn't happened since (this was several months ago).
