I'm going to be tested in a week an a half to figure out what's causing my miscarriages, and my doctor has mentioned that the thinks it might be a clotting issue. She also told me that if that's the case then heprin and baby asprin will help fix the problem when I get pregnant the next time. My question is I know that people with UC shouldn't take asprin due to the bleeding issue, but does baby asprin fall into that area too?

I have UC as well as clotting issues.  I had a DVT and Pulmonary Embolism soon after getting diagnosed with UC in 2007.  When I was pregnant I was on lovenox (similar to heparin) every day.  Additionally, I do take a baby aspirin every day.  You can take a blood test to see if you have Leiden Factor 5, which is a known clotting condition.  I did not test positive; however, since others in my family have clotting issues as well, my doctor said I definitely have some genetic clotting issue that hasn't been formally identified yet.

I have Atrial fibrillation as well as UC, when my AFib was active, I was taking warfarin (Coumadin) as a prophylactic against stroke and heart attack. My cardio doc was able to invert my AFib and I have been in normal sinus rhythm since. One of his conditions for taking me off the warfarin was that I was to take 325 mg (one normal adult tablet) of aspirin daily. I asked my GI about taking aspirin, and he said “cardio trumps GI” so I take my aspirin.

Yes I was on coumadin as well for a year.  My GI said the same thing - clots are more dangerous than UC.
