One thing we UCers can rely on, when we stop our maintenance meds we can count on our symptoms to return. It take SO long to get into remission, then we let our guard down and 'forget' or think we dont need our maintenance meds and sure as the sun will rise in the morning, we see blood again, we are running to the toilet every few minutes, and all the other wonderful symptoms return. Thats my experience anyway.

I have been okay the past few days aside from headaches, but today I'm having terrible urgency and cramps. For the first time since last year I had to use the bathroom multiple times in the morning. Could this be caused by the enema?
I suspect its just the beginning of a flare. Like I said, it takes a long time to get into remission but it doesnt take long for us to get back into a flare again once we let our guard down. I would think the stress, combined with being lax about
your meds has brought you back into a flare. The reason I say that is because the same thing happened to me. Im slipping back into a flare and its very hard to keep up with your meds, I find it anyway. Im still getting used to the fact that I need these meds to be normal and healthy. I nEEd to take them. I dont like it bc its inconvenient and I dont always know how to dose, the gi's dont always know how to dose me. I have to weigh up whether I want to be well or do I want my hair falling out. Asacol makes my hair fall out if on it for any length of time. I was using it regularly, a moderately high dose (my gi said it was anyway) and my hair was thinning and falling out. I stop (was told to) and the hair loss stopped.
I hope you can get this sorted out. This illness is ever so inconvenient.
