Went to the doctor today for a final blood draw and to make sure the pregnancy they told me I was miscarrying wasn't in the tubes.  Well,  plain as day on the ultrasound after she told me nothing would be there was a sack and a yolk sack.  She seemed a little surprised.

They just called me and told me my bloodwork went up 87%.  As of now the Catholic in me is saying to wait until the 8 week mark if nothing bad happens sooner to see if there is a heartbeat.  That way I can move on with a clear concious. 

They need to be a little more positive.  Especially when the stress is killing my UC.

As of today I am praying really hard.  Now I have to get this UC under control the best I can to help this pregnancy stick.

Hi Boxemom,
Best wishes for good results. Just FYI, my HCG did not double as it was supposed to and they also told me to expect the worst. I cried all weekend and waited miserably until my next HCG draw. Boy was I shocked when my next hcg reading was great! Now my little miracle will be 4 yrs old in April. So just want to point out that they are not always right. Fingers crossed that all will be well. Sticky vibes!!

hope things work out for you, both with baby and with UC!!
also, they can botch the early ultrasounds too, I've heard of several moms getting the "no heartbeat" ultrasound and not allowing the doc to do a D&C, just waiting it out, and finding a heartbeat later.

No quincy, they did an ultrasound to determine if the pregnancy was in the tubes, and the ultrasound showed it wasn't, and that the beginnings of a baby was indeed growing.

Keep the faith, I had a similar situation as well.  I was bleeding and cramping and was told I was miscarrying.  Had an ultrasound and there was my baby...she's 3 now!!

I hope you get good news in upcoming appts!!

I am still trying to hang on to hope. More bloodwork on Friday. I hope it is still rising. The doctor still has some doubts because of the first two labs. I spoke to my GI and he thinks it is best to not start any new meds or the Prednisone. I seem to feel ok afternoon/evening. As soon as I close my eyes to sleep the cramping and running to the bathroom starts. I am up all night. Does anybody else have it like this?

Another round of bloodwork today.  My numbers were over 2800 which is very good.  Things are touch and go still but looking up.  I will still not believe it until I see a baby at 40wks.  We all know for a fact that anything can happen at any time during pregnancy.  I am scared beyond belief but relieved for now.

I just wish I could keep my Canasa or Rowasa in.  I have been using a half a bottle of the Rowasa.  I can retain for a few hours most nights others not so good.  Should I keep at it or let things settle down?

I think I'd keep at the Rowasa and Canasa...every little bit of time that you can retain it is a good thing. Since you're only using half a bottle, what do you think would happen if you tried using the other half after you "loose" the first half? Do you think you'd be able to hold that second half for a while?

Are you on any probiotics right now?

Fruit- Last night I actually did use the second half after losing the first. I guess I will keep at it. I am really struggling with the urgency and cramping. I go all the time and it is not big amounts but small powder looking consistancy if that makes any sense.

Well, that is good news for you! I agree with fruitgirl's suggestion about using the second half after you lose the first one.

The powdery stuff is stool mixed with mucus...any bleeding? If not, that's definitely good.

How many asacol are you using?

Maybe you could consider to use a steroid foam enema during the day?

how about fibre supplements?

How are you eating at this point?

Hope things improve after the 3 month mark once all the crazy hormones have maybe settled down.

It is mixed with mucus and blood. It is the pressure and urgency in rectum that kills me. I have Proctofoam but can't use any steroids until second trimester. I am on 12 Asacol and my VSL.

Is your UC throughout your colon?
Are you taking fibre supplements? Probiotics?

have you had stool samples done?
When was your last c-scope done?
