J POUCH SURGERY

Okayyy, so I guess i dont have to explain all my symptoms and what I've gone through because were all ulcerative colitis related, so were all family. haha. Okay so I had my first surgery done Nov.1 and it was a hard recovery for me. I weighted 180 the day i was in the hospital and when i was discharged, i dropped down too 143. 180 pounds of muscle, abs all gonee!! all that hard work i spent 6 days in a week at the gym all gone, but now im healthy and happy. So its been almost 3 months since my surgery and i started going back to the gym on Jan.1 because Im not a quitter no matter what. When i would work out i would use the washroom but the gym was my sanctuary temple in a way. Anywho, going into my j pouch surgery (step 2 and 3), whats gonna happen to my body? I've been getting my muscle mass back and feel 150%. I weight 162lbs now and was wondering if i would shed all the weight again and if this surgery is as hard as the first one? I've heard the last surgery isnt as difficult or painful as the first, nor the stay in the hospital isnt as long. Please somebody tell me, im just a 22 year old male who wants to beat the crap outta this disease and want to back to university as i got accepted into medical school and want to become a GI and scientist to cure this disease so nobody else would suffer, especially the young ones

The first surgery is the toughest since you are sick and usually on prednisone going in....it makes for a long and hard recovery. The second surgery is also pretty major, but you are healthy going into it. This makes all the difference. The last surgery (take down) is very easy.

yeah i had lapro surgery, and my Surgeon said he would do my 2nd surgery where steps 2 and 3 would be done together.
