Huh, funny where life takes you. Just realized that while many people are out partying or visiting with friends on Saturday night, I am on my computer asking questions about
constipation.
Seriously though, I am so glad that this forum is here. Where else can one go, 24/7 and get advice, support and information. So, while I sit here and type my poo questions, I will raise a glass to our little corner of HW. Cheers!

I hear ya, although I'm working on and practicing for a presentation on this festive Saturday night (I live in residence lol)... :(
And sorry I'm no help on the constipation issue, I'm experiencing quite the opposite lol ;)

Have you tried steamed sweet potato? It helped me by the following day; I overcooked it a bit so that it was extra moist. Prune butter also helped; if you eat toast you can try a small amount of that as a spread. It's very smooth and should not irritate your bleeding parts. I agree that a troublesome colon can sure spoil Saturday night, but being able to relax a bit at home still beats going to work when you need the john close by. / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

Constipation?
Apple juice! A banana and apple juice after your last meal of the day...works like a charm. (I've never been constipated, but, apple juice really gets things moving!)

Yeah, I think apple juice would work for me, too!

I have heard that dried apricots work very well for constipation.

Rowasa (mesalamine) enemas will help loosen things up, along with treating your flare.
