I think they meant, is this Over The Counter...
Ah indeed it is an RX however I really wanted Mebeverine for its 'dual-action'
"Mebeverine is an antimuscarinic. Mebeverine belongs to a group of compounds called musculotropic antispasmodics. These compounds act directly on the gut muscles at the cellular level to relax them. Mebeverine is also an inhibitor of calcium-depot replenishment. Therefore, mebeverine has dual mode of action which normalizes the small bowel motility."
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MebeverineBecause it is Canadian my doctor gave me Librax which along with a switch to sulfasalazine halted my bloodiest flare ever within hours after a month of hell.
I eventually got Mebeverine over the web from Canada and it is on my list of to-do's to pickup more.
I am not taking them right now as things are under control with diet modification but I am keeping them at the ready and will not hesitate to use them again. Not only were they effective but the high dose prednisone at the time was completely ineffective.
