has anyone ever had this happen

I am unable to wear panyhose, tight fitting pants, etc... as this will cause my stomache to ?spasm?......I will get a very bad pain in my stomach. Just wondering if this is related? This is all new to me and it may sound silly to you all, but I am just trying to find out all I can so I can be proactive. This does not happen EVERY time, but it has happened enough for me to avoid tight things around my middle.

I have recently been given Bentyl. I will metion it to my GI next time I am in. I don't know if it is a spasm or not, that is why I put it in quotations....but it can be from just uncomfortable to a doubling over pain......

YES! This subject makes me happy, simply knowing I'm not alone with the pressure on our belly thing. I'm newly dx'd, after being discharged from the hospital I went out and bought leggings and long sweaters.

I also hate tight things around my stomach, even the seatbelt in the car can causes discomfort.  I take Levsin SL for spasms.  Any kinds of pants that I wear have to be below the waist fit, or I can't stand it.

YES!! The same thing happens to me! Not only does my stomach spasm, it causes me to have heart palpitations. I asked my cardiologist about this and he said there is a major nerve that is involved that regulates the heart and these palpitations are expected but wouldn't be harmful to me. Who would have thought that the colon and the heart are connected? LOL

Ah indeed it is an RX however I really wanted Mebeverine for its 'dual-action'

Because it is Canadian my doctor gave me Librax which along with a switch to sulfasalazine halted my bloodiest flare ever within hours after a month of hell.

I eventually got Mebeverine over the web from Canada and it is on my list of to-do's to pickup more.

I am not taking them right now as things are under control with diet modification but I am keeping them at the ready and will not hesitate to use them again. Not only were they effective but the high dose prednisone at the time was completely ineffective.

I have spent a lot of time feeling alone with this, it is such a relief to finally have others who understand.
