only at night..

i am having a terrible flare up, once again, been on remicade for 3 weeks, (2 infusions so far) and not a thing has changed!! but its mostly at night. last night i was sitting on the pot about 3 times every 2 hours, but during the day when i'm most active i can last 4-6 hours with out going. i was under the impression that remicade was supposed to work right away. the doc wont let me take more prednizone (on 40mg) even though thats not even doing anything. gonna start with some of the other stuff that goes in the other end starting tonight, haha thats weird, only on a forum like this one is it okay to talk about something going in your butt to a group of total strangers!! just venting really, thanks for listening..

Remicade can take up to 3-4 doses before you see a difference, from what I have been told. Hang in there. It is the wonder drug for many.

The rectal meds should help the night time BMs.

I know how you feel. Some nights I’m in the bathroom up to 4 times a night. I’ve learned to not turn on the lights in the restroom so it doesn’t fully wake me up however it doesn’t make the pain any less. Those nights suck because it makes getting up for work really hard from deprived sleep. The part I hate the most is thinking I'm done and the minute I get back into bed I need to rush to the restroom again. The past few nights I’ve taken pain meds because it seems to help calm my stomach a little and a better night sleep.

Thanks for the laugh! You’re right this is the one place that we can all come to talk about our issues with UC and everyone can relate and won’t find what we’re saying is gross even if we are a bunch of strangers.
