I swore that Aspirin and Tylenol were OK for UC. My mom scolded me for buying Aspirin today saying that it's definitely NOT recommended/allowed for UC patients. Google didn't help much. One article said low-dose Aspirin had no effect. confused

Guess it's back to taking Tylenol next time I get a migraine. I had a bad one yesterday and 2 extra strength Tylenol did nothing. I was desperate for some Aspirin, which I got today for future use...if allowed...

No NSAID is recommended for UC !
If you have other kind of paind just use paracetamol based medications. But take care of your liver then...

If you're not that sensitive to aspirin, occasional use shouldn't bother you. Sometime you have to make a choice, an aching head or a possible Uc reaction. I would choose the possible reaction over a migraine any day! I can't tolerate aspirin at all. I tried it once to help with my body pain but I had almost instant bleeding. But whenever I have a migraine, I do take Excederin Migraine which contains caffeine and aspirin. Yes, it bothers me but like I said; it's all about choosing.

As Red said, it's about choices and trade-offs.

about twice a year I'll get such a bad headache that I take aspirin. But I wouldn't take it on a regular basis.
I stay away from ibuprofen - I've heard it can cause UC-like symptoms in non-UC folks! I took it some years back for a back spasm, taking doses around the clock, and I ended up in a horrible bloody flare.

On a normal basis, I stick to Tylenol.

I have the OK from my GI to use aspirin for headaches. I don't get migranes, although some certainly feel like it.

One that worked amazingly for me was anacin, and yes..it has caffeine. I don't use it at this point.

I do also see a chiropractor when things can't be resolved.

Tylenol Back relief might work for you...it has a muscle relaxant methocarbamol.

My cardio doc prescribed 325 mg of asprin per day, I asked my GI, and he said he didn't like it, but cardio trumps GI, so I take my asprin!
