Lialda & bladder incontingency

I've been taking 3 Lialda a day and have been having problems with a lot of hair loss,  weight gain and now my bladder leaking. I quit taking the lialda all together and will see how I do,  hoping to avoid a flare.  I've been having no problems in the last 6 months , and hope & pray my luck holds out.  I swear getting older is for the birds, always something

Anyone else have bladder problem on Lialda??

So you've been off Lialda for six months??

I wasn't ever on Lialda but I was on Asacol for 12 years and then Colazal, but I never had any urinary leakage. If it continues, you may want to see an Urologist just to be sure nothing else is going on. When I seen a Uro (for microhematuria) she told me that as women get older, they tend to lose muscle tone down there. Especially if they have had children. Most times doing Kegal excersizes can help tone it up again.

I'm on 4.8 g's, and I will tell you that I also have bladder issues because the Lialda dehydrates me so much and causes me to drink TONSSSS of water. Therefore, I am always about to pee my pants, and it will come out a little bit before I can make it to the bathroom. I'm not so sure if that's the same as your issue.

Also, the Lialda gives me brownish urine sometimes. I went to the doc and had several tests- they decided it was the coating on the Lialda pill? Interesting.

I'm jealous that you're off of it. Hahaha. Hope that you stay healthy!

Hmm...I am on Lialda as well. I do have to pee often, but always have. I have noticed that the going is a tad bit more urgent, but nothing to the point of concern. I do tend to sometimes leak a bit...never have before, but I've been on Lialda for a year, and that's a more recent issue.

I haven't run into any hair loss issues either. Lialda just doesn't seem to be the right med for you. What is your doctor putting you on to replace the Lialda?

  i haven't seen my Dr. since last April.  He's so very good about my meds and told me I know my body as well as him and can self medicate if I'm havinng no problems.  I only have Lialda, colasol & prednisone (very low doses).  I've been thru everything from Asacol to Remecade in the last 10 years and the meds usually help for about a year and then all goes wrong or severe headaches or allergies.  But he knows I will  tough this out as long as I can avoid surgery,  last winter was a killer,  I spent 3 months on the couch & in the hospital in severe pain,  but luckily our minds have a way of letting us forget just how bad the bad times really were.  I pray that never happens again in my lifetime.

I'm on Lialda(4x/day) and in the past year have had urgent bladder issues, mostly not fully emptying and having to return again, sometimes before leaving the bathroom! More recently have been getting up at night 1-2/night. Was on Cipro and currently Bactrim to treat potential prostate infection.

Sue - bladder leaking you mean wetting your pants a bit I presume? that has happened but is very very rare for me. Also have read that Kegel exercises(for men and woman) can help control urine flow/incontinence, etc. I started a few weeks ago daily and it does seem to help!

I just started taking Lialda, twice a day and so far, so good.
