Anyone been to Mayo or Cleveland clinics?

I'm really frustrated and scared with the level of care I'm getting in Guatemala, and seriously starting to consider a visit to the US to get a third opinion.

I can't get alternate medicines here other than Pentasa and Prednisone, and I've exhausted those. The doctor I visited in Fla last year doesn't bother to answer my calls or emails regarding getting me an rx for Rowasa, and I'm getting worse each day.

Have any of you visited a "specialized" clinic in the US? I've read that the Mayo and Cleveland clinics have good GI departments.

I second Cleveland clinic. I am going back tomorrow for my surgery on Monday. They have patients from all over the world.

I have been to Mayo in Rochester and they are very thorough and courteous. For a first visit expect them to want to run every test under the suns on you- but they are good about squeezing it all into a two or three day visit, and there is not much waiting around.

If you end up in the Cleveland area..LMK...I live close & can be around if you need someone who knows the area!
