I know there's been a lot of talk here about
the fecal transplant type enema. But what if you don't have a reliable source of "healthy poop" to use?
I think there's much agreement that probiotics are good to restore good gut flora, but what if the inflammation is just in the rectum? Can you just insert your preferred probiotic powder in enema form? Has anyone tried this? Any luck?
(In a 5 minute www search I found most references to Jini Thompson's Listen to your Gut recommendation for a "probiotic retention enema" but I don't care to pay to download what she has to say)
I just want to know if the probiotics would work like that... you know... treating from both ends...?
