I started getting lots of evening (sometime late night) calf cramping. 3-4 nights a week, sometimes more than once a night, at its worst few weeks. Mostly left leg. Then some toe/foot cramping started too. Potassium and calcium looked OK on blood chemistry. Things went into abeyance a bit, but for the past few weeks some foot cramping and one or two really bad leg cramps resumed.
I thought it was a side effect of Lialda, but it may have gotten worse when I was tapering Pred. But I know some of the cramping happened before my 1st course of Pred.
Seems sure it is one of the medications, or an electrolyte imbalance secondary to UC, or even deficiency of free iron to support muscle metabolism - but this should lend more to fatigue than cramping, and why mostly the left leg?
Still observing and thinking ... and cussing when I get a cramp.
