I've had some positive results with cigarettes. Smoked two "medium strength" cigs per day, one in the morning and one at night. Within a week it brought me from 4-6 soft, urgent BM's per day to 2 well-formed, much less urgent BM's. I hate cigarettes though... the health risks, the stench, the social stigma. It's all quite awful.
So I then decided to try the nicotine lozenges "Nicorette". I really don't care for these things either. The mint flavoring is enough to burn a hole straight through your tongue. It's intense! Just one tic-tac sized lozenge will last in your mouth for at least 30-40 minutes before completely dissolving. So much torture in such a small package, wow! Also I felt that the artificial sweeteners weren't doing my UC any favors. So I decided to move on.
I picked up an electronic cigarette last week. Been using it a bit lately, but I haven't had enough quality time with it to make a final judgment just yet.
