So...... this is what is supposed to help my active Ulcerative Colitis and symptoms that come with it :

Hydrastis Canad
Colubrina
China Rubra
Lycopodium Clav.
Gastricumeel
Vaccinium VI.ID. Shoots 1DH

I will give them a shot but perhaps I should have visited a Naturopath Doc instead of a Homeopathic doc.....


Thoughts?

I have no idea what any of those are! Is it a capsule, or dried powders, or...???? How often do you take them, when can you expect to see any results? And a homeopathic doctor prescribed these? Interesting. Well, good luck!

Yeah, a Homeopathic doc who specializes in UC/Chron's prescribed them. Some I take daily, others just on the weekdays and others just on the weekends. Do this 3 weeks and then revisit with him.

Some are sprays, some are tablets...

Oh on a side note : my Doctor refused to give me my testosterone shots (low results on last blood test) as I have no signs or symptoms of it and he told me the blood test for testosterone is notoriously poor. Besides he said, a GI has no business in this, it isn't something they know really. So, he ordered another testosterone test just to see the numbers this time..

If you have a donor, you should seriously consider going through the fecal transplant procedure. It literally cured my wife of UC (only prednisone would suppress her symptoms pre-transplant). After we did the fecal transplant, she tapered off of prednisone, remicade, etc. without any uc symptoms coming back. I have the before and after pics from the 'scopes to prove it. I found out everything I needed to know on this forum.

I think i'm going to start campaigning for this procedure on this forum because it makes me sick to my stomach to think that all these people are going through major surgeries and dealing with the same issues that put my wife in the hospital several times and no one is informing them of the legitimacy of the stool transplant. It makes me mad just thinking about it. F'ing doctors / health care bureaucracy.

Give it a try and let us know. Lord know we're all struggling with the western crap and it's not working. Three weeks seems like a short enough time to give it a try.

I'm tempted to give this a try. I have a 13 y.o. son who has never taken antibiotics. I think he would make a good donor.

Can you give me an idea of how you did the transplant? I think if I have poop, a blender and some enema bottles, I would be good to go. Am I missing anything?

How many times did your wife do the transplantation?

nuke and C_G_K - we have some folks who have done at-home fecal transplant; search for the extremely long threads titled "I took the plunge" for starters.
Instead of derailing this thread, maybe it's time for a new one? Nuke, is your wife's story posted here, or could you tell us about the transplant? Who was the donor?

Yes NukeUC, new thread would be great. I would love to hear more details of your experience with fecal transplantation.

I have stopped all supplements as they were costing me a fortune and I was still flaring. I haven't noticed any difference after stopping aloe gel, fish oil, primal defense and super seed except my wallet is a little fatter at the end of the month. I still do take metamucil, vitamin D and calcium, but I don't consider them "supplements' really.

Perhaps others have had more success with supplements.
