Hello everyone,
It has been a while since i last visited this site. But I am here looking for any info anyone might know, or might have experience w/.
I was dx w/ UC after the birth of my son, 7 yrs ago. After getting under control, I ended up off meds due to preterm labor (long story) of my second child. SO, i have been off all UC meds now for 4yrs. I then had a total hysterectomy (everything gone, including appendix)
I also have an immune deficiency (IGA deficiency), which causes me to not be able to fight off infection of the mucus membrane organs of my body.
That being said, I get chronic GI infections (direhea, nausea, ect), however, my UC stays in remission (YEA!)
So, I went to the ER yesterday due to dehydration and uncontrolled right sided lower abd. pain. They did a CT scan, and came back w/ some very strange results.
It said that the colon was fine, but that i had Hydrosalpinx (which is water in the fallopian tube), and Pelvic Inflammatory Disease.....UMMMM, did they not get the note that I did not have any fallopian tubes left???
So, my gyn, who did the hysterectomy is out of town but another doc in his office told me it's a GI thing, that sometimes hydrosalpinx can be confused with a looped bowel, and the GI doc told me it's a gyn thing.
I know this is pretty off in left field, but i was hoping that someone might have heard of the term and may have some experience. In my opinion, they must have seen SOMETHING, but no one seems interested....any ideas?
