Skin indentations with prednisone?

During my very first course of prednisone I developed some weird lines on the skin of my upper legs and butt. They're indented slightly, not really differently colored than my pale skin, half an inch to an inch long, and look almost like scars or stretch marks. I didn't see any changes or new marks during subsequent courses of prednisone. My first gastroenterologist had no explanation, and I haven't gotten around to asking my current doctor since they're not bothering me. Has anyone heard of this?

I have read of others writing that they had this side effect. Prednisone ages the connective tissue; so it's not surprising that stretch marksor stretch-like marks are a side effect of Pred. I read somewhere that stretch marks are a long-term side effect of Pred, so is thinning of the skin, also not surprising.

Thanks. I tried Google earlier and only came across reports of red-colored marks. Mine are about the same color as the skin. The most weight I gained on prednisone was about 15 pounds, so I assume they're not actually stretch marks.
