Hi,

I have not posted on here for a really long time.  I have been in remission for @ 2 years and my last colonoscopy @ 4 months ago was wonderful.  Humira has really helped.  The problem now is Panic attacks and anxiety.  The last time I felt like this I had my first flare.  Is this a sign that it is to come?  Any help would be appreciated.

Congrats on your remission!

I think a lot of people get panic attacks and have anxiety and don't have UC issues, so.... I wouldn't think the two are necessarily related.

Are you on any maintenance meds? Or do you have any handy? If you started to feel ANY inklings of a flare, you could get on or raise the dosages of those meds quickly and perhaps head it off.

Being prepared always makes me feel calmer.

Yes Asacol.  I will start to take it if I feel anything abnormal coming on.  I seen a doctor at the university of PA and he asked me what came first the uc or anxiety.  I said I didn't know and he replied that is the question so apparently there is some correlation or it just can bring it on.  Thank you.

sdaless, I have the same problem with anxiety. I definitely think it causes my UC symptoms to be worse. If I could tell you how to eliminate it, I think I would probably be a very rich person. All I can tell you is that I have completely changed my way of thinking, I don't let little things get to me and I realize that things don't always go my way and that's ok. I try not to get worked up and I also try to have "me" time everyday where I get outside and do some walking or something physical. Are you still taking Humira or just Asacol? Did you try Remicade before Humira?

Thank you so much for your reply.  I stopped taking the Humira because of all my results.  I did not go on Remicade Humira was first.  Thank you so much and I am trying to get into therapy.
