Getting a doctor to prescribe LDN, specifically in Austin.

Do you know which LDN you will be getting, i.e. oral and if so with which filler, or transdermal? BTW, are you on the SCD diet too?

Does anybody know how fast it will start working? I don't have much time. May go the surgery route very soon.

It's very individualized. However, if you are on the SCD diet, I can tell you that your results will be much quicker.

It could take as little as a week to several months, depending on how your body responds and what you are doing to help it as a catalyst to making LDN work harder, faster, better for you - i.e. SCD diet, no alcohol, no opiate drugs.

Although I was on the SCD diet before LDN, once I went on the Transdermal LDN, my bleeding went from a 10 ( 0 to 10, with 10 being the worst) to a 3 at the 4th day and then to a 1 after the 7-8th day.

Hey therearemiracles--unfortunately the combo antibiotics did not work long term. I got three good weeks after and started to flare again. So not sure what happened. I would say there is something to bacteria/stress causing all this though at least in my case. Yes, I hated to take the pills and could not until it was over. Hopefully the LDN will help.

not all integrative/alternative doctors do not accept insurance... But the ones who dont accept insurance at least will spend lots of time with you- usually a minimum of 30 minutes- usually an hour- on all visits, which is a positive thing vs the 5 minutes usually spent by a doctor who is part of the machine. I strongly recc. having an alternative/integrative doc to complement a GI- esp. as in my experience GI's are the "worst of the worst" amongst specialists in not thinking outaide of their "5asa-steroids-surgery" box.

I am doing a little bit better, but its to early to tell. Still suffering symptons. I think it is helping a little. I am on day four so far. So I guess its wait and see. But thanks for asking.

I pretty much eat baked/grilled chicken or baked/grilled fish every day. I will have a banana, oatmeal, rice, green beans, potatoe salad, pastachio nuts, quacomole and thats about it.

Yes, the colonscopy and especially its prep, could really be quite aggravating to UC as it is!

I would suggest you replenish your good gut flora with some VSL #3 and see how it goes.
