SOOOO, my specialist is on vacation, and family doctor will tell me to wait it out (that's if I can get in to see him) my question is.... Has anyone else experienced swollen lymph node under chin with imuran (if so, what next)? With a formed BM, does the runny blood mean it's coming from my lower colon again? and also, REMICADE... I want to get off of stupid imuran (it also makes my hair fall out), I am hoping to try Remicade I hear it works wonders.... Has anyone had positive/negative experiences with Remicade. Please help, I don't want to talk about this with my friends or family - they will get worried about me.
Welcome on board, lmrobich.
What a ride you've experienced. I know nothing about
the lymph nodes or Remicade, but would like to offer my 2 cents and support anyways.
First off, you ought to have a GI doc you're able to reach at any time. When one is on vacation, his associate deals with urgent matters.
Second, there are plenty of causes for 'runny blood.' It could be that you've developed hemorrhoids. Anyways it's the end of your GI track that is bleeding. It's good that the blood does not scare you out of your mind.
about
Remicade: the Mayo Clinic found in their study "
Ulcerative Colitis Treatment Reduces Need for Surgery by Almost Half that "
Mayo Clinic researchers has found that ulcerative colitis patients had a 41 percent reduction in colectomy after a year when treated with infliximab, according to a study published in the October 2009 issue of Gastroenterology."
Nobody wants to be on any med - well, there are some who could not live without munching Canasas - but for most UCers the meds work. (They've bit for me for the past four decades.) When the meds quit working the only option is colectomy.
I wish you all the best with the Remicade and fast healing. I'm certain the Remicade experts will provide you with more detailed assistance.
Hang in there.
