Lialda versus Pentasa

I previously had a total colectomy for my ulcerative colitis and my small intestine is connected to my rectal stump which acts a reservoir. I still have UC in the reservoir and I recently started taking Lialda.  Unfortunately the pills come out of me intact (I have a 1-2 hour transit time from mouth to 'exit').  My Doctor wants to switch me to Pentasa, but when I read that it is also a 'delayed' release.  And, I have an $800 dollar bottle of Lialda I would like to use.  If I drank a soda or orange juice would the Lialda, would it 'dissolve' better?  And would I have the same issue with Pentasa?

I think rectal meds are your better bet actually..

Both oral and rectal are obviously always a good combo, but between Lialda and Pentasa in your case and as your physician advised, Pentasa should do a better job of helping you as described above...
