Thanks for all your suggestions

Now I am in trouble ,as per doctors instruction I tried by reducing Prednisolon dosage

Usually I was having 20 mg per day .10 mg morning and 10mg night

I tried 5mg three time so per day 15 mg ,I tried to reduce 5 mg only .but form that time I am noticed mucus with blood small amount

Still its continues .

while having 20mg Prednisolon per day my bowel moment was 1time in a day .now its become 2 time .

But now again I started taking 20mg per day .even though noticed mucus with blood

So by seeing all this symptoms please guide me

What I have to do next ?

Food menu I didn’t changed.
But I taking food from company mess .

so I am worried now


please give some ides .....................

Are you on rectal meds? And if so, which ones?

What diet are you on?

no i am using only oral medicine

diet i am having white rice and Dhal curry from the day i started medication i am having only this with Yogurt

expecting simple guidance for for a better diet. Because i am not with family .at this stage what food can bring me to better position ?

I think you did the right thing by bringing your prednisone dose back up to 20. Stay there for a few days and then try to reduce again. Maybe this time reduce only your evening dose instead of spreading the pills out over the day.

There are a few other things that would help, IMO:

1) Can you talk to your doctor about rectal meds, like canasa suppositories or enemas?

2) Slippery elm bark powder - a couple times a day.

3) L-Glutamine 15 grams to help with colonic repair.

4) omega 3 or krill oil - 2 grams per day.

5) Check out 5-LOXIN, it's an anti-inflammatory.

6) Make sure to get your Vitamin D3 levels checked via blood work, as there is a strong connection between low D3 levels and IBD.

7) Good probiotics, like VSL#3 - which contains 450 billion active cultures.

8) Have you thought about Transdermal LDN? It's very effective too. If you need the links, I'll be glad to post them for you.

9) Keep a food journal - so you can see what agrees and disagrees with you, and see the correlations.

10) Try the SCD diet - specific carbohydrate diet, and if that's too rigorous, then do dairy and wheat free.

11) Lastly, look into food combining, or rather mis-food combining. Here's a good explanation of it:

12) Are you drinking enough good clean water?

For me, food doesn't make too much difference in my condition but I do not eat much when I am feeling flared up because the more I eat, the more I am rushing to the toilet. I think the best thing to do is stay at 20mg for a bit longer and hopefully you can taper down without symptoms once you have healed more. I had the same exact situation you describe, everything was great at 20mg but under 15mg, things started getting rocky. I was not able to taper off without having symptoms until I added an immunosupressant.

How long have you been on prednisone? What other medications are you taking?

I agree with the others on rectal medications. You could try mesalamine or steroid, I recommend trying both, steroid foam at night and a mesalamine suppository in the morning seems to work well for me. When you're stable, taper off the steroid rectal foam and switch to using Rowasa at night for maintenence. The reality you have to face is that you may need to start Imuran or 6mp to get off prednisone without having symptoms. That was a turning point for me. I didn't want to accept that I needed someething stronger than oral and rectal mesalamine but after a LONG course of prednisone, I wanted off and this was the only way. I started 6mp and I was able to taper off a few months later. You could try tapering slowly. 2.5mg every 10 days may work better than 5mg. I personalyl don't like timed tapers, wait until you feel ike your body feels ready to taper.

It seems that you need to stay on a higher dose of med 'til you're sure that the bleeding has stopped. Are you getting enough rest? If you work fulltime several days a week & have to take meals outside your home, that can be tiring & stressful for your body. Can you take any time off work for health reasons? Plain boiled white rice is helpful during UC flares, but the dhal curry might be irritating to your intestines if it has black pepper & hot spices in it. Some food that's very mild & easy to digest is what you need. Can you get lassi? Poori or nan? I think those would not cause you problems. Mashed potato with turmeric should also be all right; turmeric has a natural anti-inflammatory quality. There is a possibility that retention enemas would help speed your recovery if you have inflammation in the sigmoid colon and/or rectum; generally UC patients use them at bedtime so that they can be retained for 7 hours or longer. You would have to ask your doctor for a prescription. In the U.S. they come in packages of 7 bottles. Now i decided to go back to my family .next week i will go back to India .

ur wording is like God's gift for me .i really got immense support from this site

i was soooooo worried and tensed when i saw mucus and blood with each bowel moments. now feeling better .

definitely i will ask doctor abut ur suggestions and i am in a search for more natural remedies .In India its called AAyurvedha.i already consulted with them through mails .let me check.

But when i discussed with my doctor he advices me to sty with current medicine at least for 4 more month .

he accepted reduce storied (prednisone)and include anti-steroid inflammatory tablet .he ask me to continue asacol 400mg for 4 month.

you are right..when i get dhal curry from mess i noticed pepper. unbroken i will take it out .but there are many broken .so that may be the reason still i am not getting fully cleared .and i used to take yogurt .now form yesterday i stopped .

lets me discuss abut ur suggestions with doctors

Don't forget about asking for rectal meds, they are quite effective and have almost no side effects.

And as far as diet, try SCD.
