Concerned over blood results.

Hi folks,

had a blood test recently (Doc thinks I have trigeminal nerualgia and was running some tests). She said the tests were fine, but that my blood cells were very 'fatty' and that normally that would be something we she have to look into, but she thought it was probably as a result of the azathioprine I take.

Unfortunately, before I got a chance to quiz her on what that meant, she went on to the trigeminal neuralgia and the moment was gone.

I'm quite concerned as my dad died at 58 with atheriosclerosis.

Can anyone here enlighten me as to what this actually means, and why it might be linked to my immunosuppressants?

It would have been good to get a copy of all your blood test results...you can still ask for a copy and maybe pick it up so that you have it for reference and research.

It's probably related to the Cholesterol test, but which one exactly I don't know. Maybe it's the fatty acids...lipid or phospholipid composition? Depends on what tests the doc took and how high which particular reading was.

It could be related to the aza intake, but further tests would have to be done for sure.

When do you see her again?

I found this site with good information on TN, for those who would be interested in the info and it may be helpful to you as well regarding tests, etc.  I sure hope you don't have it...but I can only imagine the pain you would be going through if that's where it's leading..

Hi,

I saw your earlier posts on possible arthritis pains did you manage to resolve them, if so what worked for you.. I'm in a very similar situation with pratically every joint in my body in pain and going through similar nightmares with consultants on finding treatments?

I have had big cells from 6mp. I've heard it is common witht hese medications. If you stop the medication, they go back to normal. I was off for a couple weeks and mine went back to normal. I am sure they are big again since I am back on 6mp. If you have a family history, I would be concerned too. Put a call in and ask her what she meant.
