Remicade is approved (I am still fighting with them to recognize it). But in my research I was devastated to find out that Humira is not. So if remi stops working for me then it's off to surgery.

Is there anyway you can get diagnosed as indeterminate colitis you think? I've been told that will get it approved quickly if it's not approved for UC. I was told IC
opens you up to get meds for both UC and CD. Just a though

good idea, I think that's how my GI listed me to get Remicade.

I'm wondering if the Remicade doesn't work if your doctor could request to the insurance company stating that you did not respond to the Remicade and need to take Humira since it's the next step after Remicade doesn't work. My doctor did that with me and I had no problems with switching.

Also, there are some cases here on the forum of UCers who failed Remicade and since then have been taking Cimzia. (FYI) / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)
