I'm working on getting pregnant & wondered if any other woman has been on remicade & had a healthy pregnancy and baby?

If nobody on here answers you, I am pretty sure there are women on the Crohn's forum who have had Remicade babies with no problems. Of course, my concern with Remicade lies in problems the child might have down the road, rather than problems that might appear shortly after birth.

I have also read that Remicade doesn't cross the placenta until the third trimester, so it may be possible to get an infusion at the very end of the second tri, then hold off as long as possible, maybe even until delivery, for another.

I think they stop remicade after the 26th week or something for pregnant women, def check w/your GI.

My G.I. said he would have the infusions stopped in my 8th month.  I have already been to the Otis website...was really hoping to get real life experience.  My gi said that he recently had a patient who was pregnant & did the remicade.  Was just hoping to talk with someone to see what their experience was since there is not a whole lot of research out there on results.  Thank you both so very much for taking the time to answer me.

I was on Remicade for my entire pregnancy and had a happy, healthy baby boy. No complications, no restrictions on the Remicade. He just turned 4 and is perfect!
I was diagnosed 7 years ago during the pregnancy of my now 6 year old...Remicade started right after she was born. I would much prefer the Remicade vs. not during pregnancy!

Thank you so very much kswiss44...this is the info I was really wanting. I have been on it now since April. I just received my 2nd 2 month maintenance. I have to say that this is actually working & now that my endo has been mostly removed, I might be able to wein off of the Asacol which would be awesome since I really hate taking pills & the HD's are almost like horse pills. Before I started on it I did a lot of research & most of it was kinda scary as most cannot tolerate it but all seems to be going very well. We should start a blog about pregnancy & remicade since there is not enough info out there at all. Thank you again so very much.
