Well, I wasn't diagnosed for over a year due to no health insurance, but was majorly sick. However, prior to that, nope, not a single sign. I never had issues
Same here. It was a year between my first flare and my second, and then I had to wait another three months to see a doctor due to not having health insurance.
I had a very strong digestive system when I was a kid. I didn't have any digestive issues until I was 18 and took a trip to Hong Kong and China. The food gave me diarrhea. Then I remember getting a lot of diarrhea and bloating in Taiwan from bubble teas (which contain fructose instead of can sugar). I also remember getting a lot of diarrhea and bloating in the US from chocolate and bubble teas. That's all I ate and drank for a couple of years due to being depressed about
my divorce. Not knowing anything about
IBD, I ignored it. I got my first flare about
six years after moving back to the States.
During that whole time, my digestive system was weakening due to antibiotics. So my digestive system increasingly worsened until I got my first flare.
My body can now no longer handle fructose and antibiotics. Fructose gives me IBS. Antibiotics will cause me to flare. Since doing fecal transplantation and avoiding fructose and antibiotics, my digestive system is gradually gaining strength.
