Colonoscopy tomorrow. Question...

So we get those 2 liters(Moviprep) to drink to clean us out before the colonoscopy. I was supposed to drink 1 liter first which I already did then 5 hours later im supposed to drink the 2nd liter. I havent been eating much in the first place and my BM basically looks like water.

Im thinking its not necessary for me to drink the 2nd liter right?

I would sy do the complete purge....but I've never done the Moviprep.

This seems late to be doing the second litre...what time were you supposed to start?

Is the liquid stuff yellow/clear with no stool?  Did you have any stool when you were going after the first litre?

what time is your c-scope?

Don't veer from the docs orders. I didn't get cleaned out enough because of not following the directions and I got dumped out the back door with my husband unceremoniously.

Had to do it all over again.

i was told to drink 4 liters of prep in 4 hours and not to eat anything that day (except liquids). last time i've ate around 3 pm and started the prep at 18 pm. even if i drank all 4 liters, my preparation was not so good.

so stick to what doctors tells you. it's unplesant, but this is how it is.

I stopped drinking my prep once everything was clear/clear-yellow and the docs still went ahead with the scope and said it was fine. Just make sure you stop the minute everything is actually clear - no solids, no bits. You may have to drink a few more glasses before that happens.

I had Suprep on my last scope and I couldn't make it thru the second half. I was feeling extremely nauseous so I decided not to continue. I was going clear and my scope was good. It's best to do the entire prep but if you are feeling sick but going clear it should be okay. Perhaps you can attempt the second?

Just got home! My colonoscopy was at 2pm. I put my alarm for 5am which is the time they told me I should drink the 2nd liter but the alarm didnt wake me up. I woke up later then that and decided not to even take it because my BM was completely clear(no bits or stool, like a faucet lol) after the 1st liter. Colonoscopy was good with no complaints from the GI and now I know that although I have moderate to severe colitis, its not in the whole large intestine, only like a foot of it.

glad you had a good Colonoscopy!

FWIW, once when I was doing the prep. Was two small bottles(or maybe one), vice the one gallon jug which I prefer. Morning of the procedure I knew I wasn't empty, you know the feeling, you can feel it, you can see you're not eliminating clear. I was hoping the previous day of limited diet and much elimination wasn't for naught, frantically paged the Doctor on call early AM, their reply was, oh, no problem, we can always use the vacuum if you're not completely empty. Everything went fine, not sure if they had to use the "vacuum", but was good to know the procedure would go on...
