So I've been having awful insomnia while on Prednisone and bought some Melatonin to try and combat this, but while researching online I'm seeing some sources say that they two shouldn't be taken together, but none of these articles/sources are really saying why...does anyone take Melatonin with their Prednisone to try and get some sleep?

yeah i was but it wasn't helping me at all. i was taking 3mg of melatonin at night and still woke up a lot.

You sound in the exact same place as me, I'm at .5 pred, 6mp 50, 75 alternating and was on cipro earlier, and going for my forth Remicade nov. 22. I have been ok too, but I think it is just the pred, starting to see signs more as I ween. I have been on 6mp since Jan. And never saw a difference, was on hydrocort and Apriso at the same time. I stopped all steroids before starting rem to see if it worked and ended up into a bad flare beginning after first infusion, and worsening after second. At the hospital a week later and put on 60 prednisone. I don,t want to mix anything with the rem, bc i want to know for sure if it works or not, I actually don,t really want to take it because of the risks, especially with 6mp combined. What do you think?

I have been on Prednisone and Melatonin at the same time in the past. But I took melatonin for its anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptosis for Crohn's.

But what helped me the most to fall asleep was LDN.

LDN + Melatonin helped me while on prednisone to get quality some rest. On the first day on LDN, I slept from 1 am to 11 am straight without waking up.

Melatonin may make immunospressants ineffective when you combine the two.

Thanks for everyone's input - Sibby that makes sense, melatonin effecting the Prednisone as ineffective...I don't know why nothing said this, haha, thank you!
