You should have a colonoscopy done ASAP. That's how UC or IBD is diagnosed. Until then you won't know what your real diagnosis is and can't get the meds you might need. UC is diagnosed based on what they see or by biopsy. IBS is what they call it with no further information or not seeing any physical indications.
Pain can be either IBS or IBD, not every UC'er has pain, I don't except in cramping sometimes.
Since you're anemic you might be passing blood in your stool that is not visible (occult). Please get a c-scope and find out what's happening. However make sure you have an insurance plan first, after getting a UC diagnosis it becomes more difficult to get insurance and/or at a reasonable cost. Insurance, even if it doesn't cover the cost of your meds, brings the cost of the meds down a lot.
