Who's tried LDN, and what are your results? PART II

I should also mention I stay away from heavy animal fats (grease), tomato sauces and potatoes. They dont seem to do well with me. Thank you food journal!

I will say I am back to my salsa, chips, guacamole, and especially chicken fajitas. Yippee.

Well I wouldn't go that far I'd rock some serious sourdough bread if I could, not to mention pizzas and pastas. But alas, those things are still deep on the illegal list...

Doin great the past few days Only 4-5 times a day, almost always formed, and that's WITHOUT the psyllium that I was relying so heavily on to at least give me some substance to the movements.

Here's my update on trying out the liquid LDN:

Despite still being sick, with my cold and cough, which I believe started when I got off LDN, here's the rash update.

I had to resume the transdermal LDN (emu oil) despite the rash. I was technically off TD LDN for 9 days and my bleeding came back from ulcerative colitis. I say technically, because for the first 3 days I was off TD LDN totally and then did the liquid LDN for 6 days - had NO VIVID Dreams - so I believe my gut was unable to absorb it.

Sure enough I went back to TD LDN with emu oil for the past 2 nights, and last night had VIVID dreaming again and no more bleeding this am.

I'm going to have to speak with Skip's to see if there is any other locations where I could try and put this cream on besides above the wrists, where it would get easily absorbed so I could see if the rash is a local reaction  or  a systemic one to the emu oil.

Unfortunately it isn't as simple as  changing fillers for me. Avicel did give me a bad reaction, true. But I did try the hypo-allergenic formulation - and it had no effect because of my aborption issues. That's why after 4 weeks on it, I had to switch to transdermal LDN. Since the liquid has no fillers, and I'm not absorbing that apparently, I doubt any other oral pills would be any different.

I'll let you know after I speak with Skip's next week.

So sorry to hear you're having problems with the LDN, InSoFla :( I hope you can figure everything out soon!

Ever since I found out I had C-Diff and went on the Vancocin, I have been SO much better. The LDN (oral with acidophilus filler) definitely brought my BM's down a lot because that is when I stopped taking Lomotil. The Vancocin got rid of the blood and I now have formed stools 1-2x's a day with no urgency or blood! I am now down to 10mg of Prednisone a day and still feeling great.

Just went to my GI on Monday and I gained back the 10lbs I lost, so that feels good. My side effects from tapering off the Pred are managable, but annoying. Can't wait to get rid of the moonface, my joints are killing me, and my body's aching like I just worked out. I definitely have less energy too. I'll take all of it right now, just knowing that I won't have to take this wicked drug anymore!

I have gone back to eating whatever I want. My appetite has been ridiculous b/c of the Prednisone and I'm a baker at heart, so with the change of seasons, I get so excited to start baking away! I've had cupcakes, ice cream, etc (all in moderation) and have had NO problems. I've really always been able to eat whatever I've wanted when I'm in remission...it's just when I'm in a flare, it seems anything and everything bothers me, which is why when I got so desperate, I tried the SCD. It did help, but at the end of the day, I can't be that strict with my diet and be satisfied. If one day I HAD to stay on a strict diet, then I would, but right now I don't feel like I need to.

I started doing the morning glory shake and got the L-Glutamine in powder form. That shake is delicious! I look forward to it every morning.

I'd like to hear how Mom2girls is doing...I know she started Remicade the last time she posted.

Hello All...just a quick check-in..Been on LDN Oral 4.5 since August the 12th and been symptom free! Talk about a new life! I can play tennis or try to play with my husband now without running for the bathroom every 10 mins... :)

One question...I have never really had any vivid dreams, everyone keeps talking about it, hmmmm?

Been thinking about you. How have you been feeling?

WHat happened with the LDN, did you go back to transdermal or stay on oral pills?

And did the pentasa granules finally leave your colon?

I lost alot of weight due to changing my diet completely (from SAD standard american diet to a very healthy one of lots of proteins, veggies, fruits )and essentially very, very little carbs altogether. But that has nothing to do with the LDN, just changing diets.

Have you changed your diet too?

I doubt very much LDN has any contributing factor to losing weight, however to be on the safe side, why not call Skip's or the compounding pharmacy where you get your LDN?
