Best Probiotic while on a month of antibiotics?

Ive been prescribed to be on 50mg of antibiotics (Minocycline) - 2x/day for a month to get rid of a Perioral Dermatitis rash on my face. UG!
I used to take a probiotic Primal Defense by Garden of Life everyday, but have stopped over this year after going on Immuran and feeling great! Im wondering if there are any good probiotics over the counter that I could just go and buy rather than ordering over the internet? Ive tried Culturel, but didnt like that one.

Any other suggestions?

If you want something natural, you could try raw sauerkraut which some health food stores (like Whole Foods) carry. Supposedly, it contains most of the same flora as is found in a healthy gut. Seems to work for me.

VSL#3DS is available with a prescription, and most insurance plans cover most of the cost. Each packet contains 800 billion bacteria, way more than you will find in anything off the shelf.

I use Align, which is available in most drugstores, and it seems to be good to take with antibiotics. It got me through three weeks of abx, including five days on IV Ceftin and Vancomycin, without a major flare.

I also keep Lomotil to take as needed when on antibiotics. My doc says it's okay in moderation if I'm not flaring. It does require a prescription, though. Again if you're not flaring most GI's now allow moderate doses of Immodium.

NONE. There is no probiotic culture that will survive an antibiotic, so my suggestion will be, save your money. Once your antibiotic course is over, wait for a week and then start your preferred probiotic.

I usually start with kefir (Trader Joe's) and then culturelle. This time, I am going Kefir and VSL #3 DS way. (I am on cephalosporins at the moment for throat infection)

No antibiotic can kill all gut bacteria, that is why anti-MAP therapy consists of three antibiotics. Even then not every bacteria is killed but hopefully the MAP are decimated. But antibiotics are weapons of mass destruction and therefore can create openings for bad bacteria like C-Diff, Mersa, H-Pylori and other bad guys to take hold.

I recommend taking probiotics at least three hours after antibiotics. The antibiotics will kill some of the good and bad but you can control the balance of power by replenishing some of the good guys with probiotics.

Another good idea is to take Saccharomyces Boulardii while taking antibiotics This is a probiotic YEAST that is completely immune to antibiotics. And S. Boulardii has an impressive track record for targeting C-Diff bacteria.
