A few years ago I finally went to a GI doctor to figure out my stomach issues. I figured I had IBS and thats what they said. We also tested for celiac, which I was negative. Slowly I cut out caffine, alcohol, excess sugar and such which helped. I still eat normal though and not just a stripped down diet. Even at times my diet has too much fat content. The thing is it seems as if I am feeling worse and worse all the time. In 2 years I have lost 35 pounds and it is still slipping. I feel fatigue a lot. I produce acid like a madman. I can get crazy stomach flares with long hours in the bathrooms from time to time, but overall my stomach has a constant discomfort all the time. My stool does conatin mucus and I suspect blood at times even though it is not clearly evident. I have heard of people not losing weight with IBS and only losing a bunch because they go on an almost malnorished diet, but my diet should almost make me gain weight. Plus I have been working out a ton for some months now and I have hit a wall in a sense and can't gain any mass, I feel the same reason I can't gain weight. I am definitly thinking it is time to get a colonoscopy and get a full diagnosis. Just wondering if you guys think it is UC. The weight loss, fatigue, and random appitite loss are red flags in my book.
