Trip to Disney in January... better start planning

dad's calling the airline tonight to find out how we can get my Naltrexone on the plane with us (since you can't carry liquids on planes anymore) but i still have to plan for my stomach.

Other than staying off the ferry, i'm not too sure what i can do for myself. every time i travel my stomach goes to one of the two extremes. in disney, it's usually D or loose stool. i know not to eat certain things for breakfast (for some reason cantelope and mickey mouse waffles cause massive BMs with me) but is there really a way to control my stomach? the other sad thing is that with the nausea, i get motion sickness quite easily so i can't do a lot of the rides that my mum will want to do, but i'm old enough now to go off on my own while i wait for her.

any suggestions for readying my stomach for travel would be lovely :D

No tips, but I have trip in April and am wondering where I will be health wise, I might get surgery.

You can take any med or med supply on the plane, make sure its in the prescription bottle and have your dr write a note, just in case. I've been on a few flights and checked about my paste for my bag, wanted to make sure it wouldn't be a problem. As for the other stuff, can you take immodium? I went to disney in 2003 before surgery, and I loaded up on immodium the whole time! The monorail was the worst for me, so I mostly walked. Which was miserable because, thanks to pred, I had a fracture on my left foot and my right pinky toe was broken! You also could take motion sick pills maybe they would help with the rides?

i said to my mom today "i think we'll have to bring a bottle of immodium and a bottle of senna just in case" and she laughed at me then said ok, fine. the problem is that when i travel, my stomach can go either way. i know better than to take the ferry now because i spent a lot of time stuck on it waiting to use the restroom when i went to Disney after graduating high school. the monorails are typically okay with me. unfortunately, the motion sickness pills and seabands only help so much. i still can't do rollercoasters, splash mountain, test track, or dinosoar (my sister dragged me on the last two last time and i almost puked on her... the pictures were kind of hysterical, because she was gesturing for me to throw the other way. the weird thing is i can do star tours and soarin without issue. some things are ok with dramamine and kytril... others aren't. and sometimes i have to load up on bonine too, for the dizzies...

Maybe try eating like you do at home? If your room has a little fridge in it maybe go buy some lunch meat or snacks to eat before you head out. All those premade Mickey waffles might have a ton of preservatives that just don't agree with you. If you do take the immodium just drink lots of water don't wanna pass out due to overheating or dehydration. And stay away from fruit maybe too?? If you need a break just tell everyone you're heading back to your room. I'm sure just having you along for some of it would be better than you puking on them or having an accident for them to remember all the time. Def try some motion sickness pills too! I hope you have a great trip despite it all. Oh and adding the park map to your cell to know where all the bathrooms are helps too : )

Disney is very good at accommodating people with all sorts of conditions. You'll also be happy to know that there are many clean restrooms everywhere! They are also huge, so you'll have your privacy! I hope you have a great trip. Disney is so much fun and makes you forget about the "real world" for a while. Try to enjoy it as much as you can!!!

Maybe you could ask you GI for a script for something like levsin or bentyl, or are you already on something like that? I'm in remission but have IBS in addition and I took my levsin with me to Disney when I was there in October. There are bathrooms every where too. I had a couple close calls but it wasn't too bad. Are you sensitive to immodium?

very sensitive to immodium. it can actually back me up for days. that's why travel is so difficult. i can be one way one minute, take something for it, then the next week is a living hell. while i certainly don't want to be constipated... i'm hoping i can maneuver my miralax so that it kicks in at about 10pm each night, around when we'd be heading back to the hotel (since the parks close so early in January), rather than 9am-12pm like it does currently.
