i have thought this all along. i think it is being ignored by the authorities due to the powerful dairy industry/dept of ag. can u imagine the ramifications to the industry if this were exposed on a very public level? the whole industry would have to be revamped. not to mention possible lawsuits. the dairy industry might make a few less billions (gasp). i wish they would pursue this further...it might be the key to making us well/preventing others from getting ibd! thanks for posting this!

I live less than a half a mile from an active dairy farm, moved there in 1979 UC 1980. No one else in the area that I know happens to have IBD,except for my son. But then again I was exposed to a girl who had Crohn's when I was 18, who knows. 

If you really want to look for a cause of IBD start looking about 1910 when chlorination first started, then work your way through the years,refrigeration,toothpaste, antibiotics,Crisco,margarine,loss of minerals in the soil,chemicals,pesticides,canned food,frozen food,vaccines,indoor plumbing and a million other things, again who knows.

I found it interesting to read on how they are making it a story but the major flaw of the study is, they failed to do their control. What is the probability that there will be less number of UC patients in the area of same population density and of same genetic make up with no dairy farm. Frankly, I am not impressed.

Now that is a truly disgusting fact. Glad and very sad to know it.
