Yeah, just don't feel like it anymore--too much fatigue, too tired, face it, diarrhea is not sexy--lol. I am totally o.k. w/not feeling sexual right now, but I'm concerned b/c I have a long term partner, who is very sympathetic to my situation, but still, I feel bad. This is NOT a medication thing, or a libido thing, it's a dealing with chronic illness thing. Can you relate? Oh, yeah, we are very affectionate, kissy, kissy, hugs, etc., And, yes, we've talked about it, but still my partner's very healthy, fit and "normal" physically--you know what I mean.

It will get better. When I am flaring, the desire is not there. But once you get to feeling better the desire will come back.

and when the flare is over, the fact that your partner was so understanding and kind will make them all the more attractive :)

Like it was mentioned above - when the flare is over and you're feeling well, the LOVING feeling will come back!

omg... im so glad to hear you have the same issue. i thought it was just me. but i seriously dont even want to have or care if i ever do. which is weird cuz i use to be so horny. my poor husband still wants it and is so supportive of me not wanting to. but i feel bad as well. glad to know the libido comes back after this cuz life without sex doesnt sound fun at all!

its tough when i am having sex i get this image of my colon creasing liek when youre trying to break something in half.. fo rthe same reason i cant do situps/crunches often. but i have noticed that if i am in the right positions sex can really help, it is one of the best natural stress relievers. my gf has been very understanding.. she has over active bladder and im used to that so its no big deal if i have to run away to use the bathroom

Great topic, going through a bit of a dry spell myself.  With my tummy issues and rash thing going on I told my hubby my inner sex kitten is just not there at the moment.  He's been pretty understanding and knows that when I do have a rare day when I'm in the moment he better jump on it because they are rare lately.  He's trying so hard not to complain but I know it bothers him.  I go for my colonoscopy next friday so hopefully we'll know more after that.  I'd love to get that part of my life back on track but since my tummy troubles have kicked in i'm just not there right now in that department and I hate it because I used to be very active with him.  So, this has really started to affect that area and I guess other than my own health I guess that's why I decided to go to the doctor with it.  It is very frustrating.

I struggle with this soooo much too. ZERO libido, where, oh where did it go? Down the toilet, I bet.

My husband has also been very understanding. However, I think there comes a time when you have to make yourself presentable, put on a little perfume, and suck it up for the sake of the loved one who is caring for you (and probably the rest of the family, work, providing, cooking, etc).

I wonder if the drugs we are taking have anything in them that makes us loose our libido? For me it's like a switch was flipped.

Mesalamines are known to reduce sex drive. That's the only one I've looked into since I'm on it. I had a pretty low sex drive before UC and I'm single so I guess it doesn't really matter, LOL.

Wow, you guys make me feel so much better. I finally have someone to relate to. I feel exact;y the same. When you are concerned about diarrhea (don't even know how to spell the horrible word) and gas, etc., it is hard to totally relax. That is the problem for me. I don't think it is the drugs at all, I think it is fear of an accident - maybe leakage or noises! My husband is wonderful and understanding, but I think it is hard for him as this disease continues. I am finally in remission so hope it stays that way.

As the others said, it will come back once you've stopped flaring. Incidentally, I get the same way with my coffee-total addict normally but if I'm flaring I won't touch it and barely feel the withdrawal symptoms.

I felt exactly the same my sex drive went away for almost 2 years but like Guategirl said in the above text. There were times when i had to put on perfume and make myself presentable my husband was and is understanding but not a monk. But now I am in remission I got my sex drive back feel horny all the time. I think you are right its the meds and the depression of feeling very unsexy.
