Yes, Dr. J is correct. It is a disease of the elderly.
My mother was diagnosed with it 2 months ago.
They found 2 blockages in veins supplying the gut and colon, and wanted to put in a stents.
I did some research and found a world reknown doctor in Chicago who specialzed in this and had written a paper wherein she said that in 40% of cases where they do angioplasty and put in stents in abdominal occluded veins, it resulted in death.
I had to scramble around to get her a second opinion, and the 2nd doc said that there was no reason to put in stents, because the other arteries take up the slack and she was asymptomatic after the first diagnosis.
Another example that you have to be your own best doctor.
