Colonoscopy tomorrow morning.

Now, everyone says that it was the worse tasting thing they ever had. I thought it tasted like salty lemon crystal light. It wasn't that bad, but drinking so much at one time was what was hard. My biggest fear is I didn't know if I had enough to where I am cleared out. All I am passing is pure liquid. It took me 3 hours to get the prep down, because it worked right away. I started passing basically liquid before I was done, I still pass liquid but it calmed down a lot. So my question is did I drink enough of it in time to be "cleaned out" Will I be okay?


Also, I can't wait until this is over, I am so hungry my dog's treats look good.

Hi there

I agree the taste isn't so bad but I find that I had to keep going through a lot of the night. It does as you say calm down and you go a little at a time at least in my experience. If you have drunk the prep and followed the instructions re not eating etc you will be fine. 

The procedure is fine too as you're sedated - the worst thing is waiting for your turn because you're tired and hungry. Hopefully you won't have a long wait. Good luck. I am sure you will be fine.

Most times if you follow the directions, you will be sufficiently cleaned out. Were you going yellow/brownish but clear?

I was told that it didn't really matter if it took longer to drink it all as long as you drank it all. My first jug of it I just couldn't drink all of because I just knew I would throw it up...my second jug I managed to drink all of...I had already been going pretty clear anyways so it may have been for nothing. Except to make me keep having to go even at the hospital.

I have a colonoscopy planned for tomorrow too. 8am. I have the liquid prepared last night and it's cooling in the refrigerator. The first batch starts at 3pm today. Not really looking forward to it. Oh well, no point thinking too much about it....

must be a week for colonoscopy's.  I have mine friday morning at 7:30.  I start my prep in the morning.  Yea me, mine is two laxative pills and a jug of stuff mixed with water.  Good luck to all...

that liquid most likely cleaned you out. as long as you drank the whole thing, i think you're good. i usually do a juice fast and have to do it for 3 days to get sufficiently cleaned out because it's not as strong as the medical crap.

Well, after dealing with this, I found out I do not have colitis, chrons, or ibs. I just have an irritation, probably because I eat nothing but junk. Doctor recommends I eat healthier, and eat a ton of fiber, and drink more water. So I will start doing that, because I do not want to go through this miserable ordeal again. One good thing came out of this. I lost weight, before this happened I weighed around 240. I now weight 215.

Its wonderful that you don't have UC or any of the other yucky diseases. The weight loss is great too. Try to eat healthy. I say this as I am trying to lose weight myself and I know how hard it is not to pop into Mcd's. Good luck to you!
