Found a website www.leesilsby.com (a compounding pharmacy) that will provide LDN in a cream form.
Is anyone familiar with it?

My drug insurance site only lists the 50mg tablets for treating addiction withdrawal so I'm thinking if I can get my GP to write a scrip, I could get it here.
Any thoughts?

I am sure you can get it from other pharmacies but I've never heard of the one you mention. You would probably get more response on an LDN specific site.

I get my transdermal LDN cream through Skip's pharmacy, prescribed by a doctor.

I've not heard of the one you cited.

Lee Silsby is a compounding pharmacy in Ohio. Looks pretty legit, too.

My insurer's rep said today that she doesn't have info about a LDN cream form so I'll have to take a prescription to a local pharmacy so they can communicate with Express scripts regarding the compounding. Then, maybe, I can get price info.
When did it get so complicated?

I guess I've been spoiled taking balsalazide and little else for the past decade.

When I took transdermal LDN , I would pick it up at Park-Irmat Drugs they are located in New York City, they also do mail orders. Their phone number is 212-685-0500. They charged me $40 for one month supply of Transdermal LDN. That is reasonable, but most insurance companies will not cover it.

What quantity is prescribed for you for a month?

Need to know as much as possible before asking Dr for scrip.

LDN is Low Dose Naltrexone.
Some who contribute to this site have had success using it. Look at earlier posts.
Google it and you'll find websites that give a lot of info. :-)

Welcome to the forum.

Do some research on LDN - low dose naltrexone, you can search this forum as they are several threads on this. I can tell you it works! Here's the Penn State research done by Dr. Jill Smith with LDN and Crohns Patients.

LDN is great, with little to no side effects. It's been around since 1980's. Doctors don't like to prescribe it because big pharma can't make a profit on it.

Even though your insurance won't cover it, actually none will, it really isn't that expensive.

A 3 month transdermal LDN supply from Skip's use to cost around $65. or so.

Again, I would like to caution you if you are going to get the capsules, be careful with fillers.

Have you found a doc willing to prescribe it yet?  If not, you can call Skip's Pharmacy in Boca Raton, FL and they can refer you to someone local to you who would.

On the package for Transdermal LDN, it states apply 1/2 to 1 ML daily. 30 crm Naltrexone 4.5 MG/M. I was not taking the full dosage of the cream. So, they start you off with a smaller dosage and gradually increase the dosage. You can also do a phone consultation with a doctor that has experience prescribing it. I think the cost was about $80. Most doctors do not have experience prescribing it especially not the transdermal cream. You can do a phone consultation with John Sullivan M.D. in Pennsylvania.
