I'm sorry. Hopefully the cancer hasn't metastasized further...liver is a common destination due to hepatic portal vessels.

I'm glad you're at a place where you can have an excellent team of doctors, though. Good luck with your treatments and keep us posted.

My gastro once told me about detecting colon cancer during a routine c-scope on a 31-yr-old guy with UC in remission-- not fun. He got cured via surgery. Wishing you a successful treatment, too. More is known these days about surgical procedures + chemo follow-up than just a few yrs ago, and Sloan-Kettering should be able to direct you to the most reliable course. That is a mighty big surprise at age 31. I and my daughter will say a prayer for you.

It is because of these near death experiences we are living in the now and moving up the street into a new home much much bigger than this one. She is eleven and the next 10 years are it, I dont really care if I ever pay it off or not. Family now, golden years are for other people. First CU hospitalization, then stroke hospitalization. I got out and I intend to make the most of my chance, could be my last chance who knows. I am 49 time to live while I can.

Your young and you have the right mindset - you whip this thing and raise your family. Laugh as much as you can and think of them when your low.

What a shock! You have a great attitude Mike, and I will be praying for both you and your family. Soak up everyday like a sponge, get stronger from all of us who are praying and sending our love and good thoughts draw strength from all of us, and from God. But remember to enjoy the simple moments, as the little ones they grow so fast.
